West Bank Church Plant PDF Print E-mail

As the Salvage Yard sends out a team to plant a church in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, there are many new opportunities for ministry.  You can read about the vision we have below and areas where you could be involved--from evangelism, to social involvement, to discipleship, to teaching healthy living skills.  If you have questions or would like to connect with that team, contact Molly Waggoner at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Vision: To restore wholeness to the broken, hope to the despairing, a home to the forsaken, and the West Bank to Christ.

Mission: We exist to bring God’s Kingdom to the West Bank of Minneapolis by proclaiming the Truth, lift up the downtrodden by engaging our neighborhood’s practical needs, make space for God to move by creating an environment that invites his presence, and call people to wholeness by teaching them to embrace the life God has set forth for them.

Areas of Ministry

Open Doors
We have no interest in living in a Christian ghetto.  We will welcome all people into our place of worship and, like Jesus, go out into the streets to share the Good News.

Open Eyes
We will not turn a blind eye to the daily, physical needs of our neighbors.  We want to clearly see the areas where we can help and actively work to serve those in need.

Open Heavens
As we lift our hearts to God in prayer and worship, we expect him to join with us and move among us through the presence and power of his Holy Spirit.

Open Hearts
We believe that God has more for us than we currently experience in our lives.  We want to be open to receive his teaching and refinement as we seek to grow in maturity.

Open Hands

We want to keep our hands open on our gifts and talents, offering them in service to God and the Body of Christ.  We recognize that without the people behind the scenes, none of our other work could take place.
