Dear Family and Friends,

We are excited to send you our first newsletter as a married couple! It’s been a work in progress, seeing as we haven’t really stopped since we tied the knot on December 17th. Our wedding was beautiful! We feel blessed to know that there are so many people who love and support us.

Our New Marriage
The last three months have been an amazing beginning to marriage and a new chapter in missionary life. Becoming husband and wife has allowed God to do a new work in both of us, showing us what it means to love deeply and become vulnerable in an interdependent partnership. We both see this time as the start of an exciting journey in life. We have learned to be flexible, as we have lived in 4 different “homes” during our first 3 months of marriage.

New Zealand
We arrived in New Zealand on January 15th in order for Noah to help organize and prepare for the Steiger International Radical Missions and Leadership Training School. During that time, Wendy has been doing some distance work for Bethel Seminary. This has involved a lot of reading and writing papers as well as interviewing urban ministers in Wellington. She has gained new insights into how the New Zealand church is changing concerning discipleship and reaching communities for Christ.

The Steiger School officially began on February 25th, and for the past 3 weeks we have been getting to know new people from all over the world. The students have come from Brazil, Germany, Poland, Finland, the United States, and New Zealand. The school consists of three days of classes, times for community service, and small groups. One day a week is focused on evangelism in local areas. Lately, we have been concentrating on Wellington, the capital city.

Minneapolis
In September 2006 we are pioneering the first Minneapolis Steiger Discipleship School under the covering of our church, The Salvage Yard. The 3-month school will be for believers who desire to grow in the foundations of their faith in the midst of daily disciplines and living in Christian community. We have been working with a core team since November 2005, which includes teachers, mentors, and worship leaders who are ready to assist in the school. Right now we’re in preparation mode and praying for committed students. Also, God is calling us to spend time with the leaders of the Discipleship School in Karlsruhe, Germany this July as a further step of preparation.

Prayer Requests
  • Marriage – Please pray for this new journey of marriage as we continue to discover each other.
  • New Zealand Steiger School – Please pray that the students who are attending the school, including Wendy, would receive all that the Lord has for them.
  • Germany – Please pray we gain wisdom from the leaders’ personal experiences. Pray that we raise the funds necessary for the trip.
  • Minneapolis – Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom and administrative direction as we prepare for the Discipleship School.
  • Seminary – Pray that the Lord would direct Wendy in her studies in the midst of her already busy schedule.
  • Support – As a married missionary couple, raising financial and prayer support is new to us. Pray we would learn to trust God for our needs.

Thank you for all of your prayer and financial support. You are a vital partner in our ministry.

Blessings,
Noah and Wendy Schneider
