The Traveling Jesus Kitchen (TJK) has been reaching the counterculture around the country. Now they will add two new members to their caravan. Ben and Teresa Pothier will join the convoy to help provide food at local, regional, and national New Age Festivals , and to show the love of Christ and the truth of who He really is.
The vision of the Pothiers as voyageurs began with a journey. God brought Ben on a journey, he says, through “heart break, struggle, sickness, wonder, healing,” and seeing God move miraculously at the New Age Festivals. God was teaching Ben and breaking his heart for those who have no idea of God’s love.
After Nigel and Rachel Houghton started the TJK, Ben and Teresa spent time in prayer, attending smaller Festivals, and looking for an RV. But God was shutting doors, and at this point they felt very discouraged.
“We knew God was calling us to this,” Ben says, “so we had to trust Him and trust that He knew what He was doing. He called us, so He needed to make it happen. We kept praying and decided that we needed to get out of debt before we could do anything.”
So they worked hard for a year, paid off their debt, and finally, within a month’s time, God provided a 27ft Fleetwood Southwind RV. The interesting thing is that it has built in rocket launchers and it turns into a submarine. The TJK will be traveling mostly east of the Mississippi river, loving and serving people they come across.
Their prayer requests: that the TJK will have the strength and wisdom to bring the truth of Christ to those who need it, to be examples of Jesus, and for protection in their marriage, traveling, finances, and work.
