I will be leaving for Malawi sometime in June of this year and I will be there for six months, I will return in December.  This is very exciting for me and a bit stressful, as I think about all the details that need to be taken care of before I go.  I have two people who will take over my position while I am gone:  Cat and Ben.  Ben will restock all ingredients and Cat will take care of volunteers.

While I am in Malawi I will be doing blacksmithing, welding, bicycle repair, and other miscellaneous tasks.  The plan is that we will have a group of people from our church go to Malawi after I have been there for a couple months to set up a workshop where we will build things, repair bicycles and anything else of that nature.

I will be working with orphan children most of the time.  I will try to teach them the skills that I have so that they can use them in their lives as they grow older to make their own living putting those skills to use.  I believe that by going to Malawi to teach these children these basic skills I could transform the lives of several children.  Being that the children that I will work with are orphans they have no parents or relatives to show them basic life skills.

Please pray for…
  • Free Government shipping to open up so that we can send our food to Malawi along with tools and supplies.
  • The team going to Malawi this summer.  That each person will raise the money needed to go.
  • A deep impact on each person going.
  • Long term ministry in Malawi.
  • Please pray for me as I prepare to be gone for 6 months.
  • Please pray that I will receive the support that I need to do this.  The total amount that I will need to raise for the whole trip will be about $5,000.
  • Please consider supporting me so that I can do this important work.
  • Please pray that I will get another room mate, this will help me pay bills at home.

I feel very privileged to be able to take an internship like this, and I am really looking forward to this.
