“Our mission is to make disciples and develop indigenous leaders as God takes us around the world.”
Dear Friends and Family,
Happy Valentine’s Day!
NightSHIFT
During the beginning of this month we had a Ministry Fair at our church, the Salvage Yard. We set up a booth to let the community know of ways they could get involved in the second semester of NightSHIFT (May-July) and this year’s SHIFT School (September-November). Many showed interest in being a future student and others asked about internships and teaching positions.
We’ve reached the halfway mark for the first semester of Nightshift! It has been an amazing time thus far in all three of the classes offered. Noah’s class on the Spiritual Disciplines is now discussing the Outward Disciplines (Simplicity, Solitude, Submission, and Service) as covered in Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline. It has been such a blessing to see the students seek to understand and find joy in the many avenues that the Lord provides for us to know Him.
Community House
We mentioned in our January newsletter that, since one of our housemates was getting married, we were praying for wisdom concerning who should move into her room. In response, God has sent us Patrick! We are very excited about his arrival and are looking forward to seeing what he will add to our already interesting group of people.
Of course, now that God has shown that He is faithful with bringing Patrick, we have come to need another new housemate! Stephanie has been given an outstanding opportunity to continue her education and will be leaving us at the end of the month. Please join us in praying for direction in finding a new housemate. During the past few months we have been praying for ways to draw nearer to God as a house and spur one another on individually. As of this past week we have begun to meet twice a week to spend time in worship and prayer. We have also been praying for outlets to get to know our larger community.
Steiger International
As Steiger missionaries we have been involved with the Radical Ministry and Leadership Training School in New Zealand during the past two times it has taken place. However, this year we will not be involved. We pray that God would use this school as a powerful tool in the lives of many others around the world. This year the school will host students from many countries, including Brazil, Poland, Iceland, and the United States.
How are we doing?
2007 ended with the two of us re-evaluating our dreams and goals. Wendy is enjoying studying for her Masters in Divinity at Bethel Seminary and is looking forward to the opportunities that this education will open for her in our future ministry. As well as leading NightSHIFT, Noah has been taking steps to be more aware of the ministries the Lord has opened up around the world. We have come to realize that though we are currently living in Minneapolis, we are still called to have a powerful influence on the world through prayer. The Lord is in love with His people and is calling us to take active steps towards showing our friends, neighbors, and world that they too can be in relationship with Him.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support in the ministry the Lord has called us to!
In Him,
Noah & Wendy Schneider
