Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year!

Christmas
The end of December was a celebratory time for us! Our Minneapolis community rang in the holidays with lots of food, chocolate, and loudly singing carols at the Green House’s Annual Christmas Party.
We then packed up the car to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary at a cozy little Bed & Breakfast in southeastern Minnesota. After a pleasant stay, we headed down to Illinois to visit Wendy’s family for Christmas. It was a real treat to leave all of the cold and snow up north to spend a whole week visiting and catching up with family and friends.

NightSHIFT
NightSHIFT has officially started as of the first week of January. Three different classes are being taught for a total of 18 students. So far everyone is learning a lot and enjoying the classes. Noah’s teaching a Monday night class called Spiritual Disciplines, using Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline. To keep up with the NightSHIFT schedule we will be planning the next semester this month – lining up classes and teachers.
Also, we will be getting ready soon for the “full-time” SHIFT in Fall 2008. This will be the first year we will be leading SHIFT and NightSHIFT simultaneously! We need a lot of wisdom when it comes to the schedule and our team.
Community House
Our community is about to make several changes. Our housemate Teresa is marrying our friend Ben next month so we’ll be getting a new housemate in the next couple of weeks. Then in March another housemate is going to the Steiger Leadership School in New Zealand that we attended two years ago. We’re very excited for her, but that also means getting another new housemate. Looking at the bigger picture, all of the community houses decided that we are going to host a block party in our neighborhood; many of the houses are within about a 4-block radius so it seems like a great way to reach out and meet people. The plan is to have it this summer with live music, booths from local businesses that have a positive impact in the community, garage sales, and a feast!
Wendy School
Wendy is back at Bethel Seminary for the Winter Quarter. This year’s she’s tackling Greek for the first time. She’s nervous, but determined. Also, she’s taking a class called “Self in Community;” this class challenges students to learn more about the relational nature of spirituality by interacting with the Gospels and in a small group.
Closing
As we look at this next year, a major area where the Lord has been challenging us has been with the way we treat our bodies. We are striving to be healthier with what and how we consume and to be educated with how this affects the community and world around us.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support in the ministry the Lord has called us to!
In Him,
Noah & Wendy Schneider
