2007 Ministry Schedule & Calendar
Dear Friends and Family,
May - August
SHIFT School Development. Recruiting new staff and students and setting up curriculum for the fall.
June 5 - July 7
Rainbow Gathering.
Training for the outreach is June 5-19. We leave for the Gathering on June 22.
September 3- November 30
SHIFT Discipleship School.
2nd annual discipleship school in Minneapolis for new believers and those who desire to learn how to follow Christ. What a blessing it is to share what the Lord is doing in our lives with you! During the past month we have been reminded of the importance of being surrounded with others who support what the Lord is doing in our lives and ministry. Thank you for your commitment to us!
The Rainbow Gathering
As missionaries with Steiger International, we are called to equip ministry-minded people to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the darkest corners of secular society and to disciple the global youth culture. Every year here in Minneapolis, our church, the Salvage Yard, leads a group to share God’s love at the Rainbow Gathering. This will be Noah’s fifth time attending and Wendy’s first.
For those of you who do not know what the Rainbow Gathering is, it is a New Age festival attended by tens of thousands in order to bring about peace, love, and harmony on earth. Sadly, some of the means thought to achieve this are through practicing promiscuous , drug use and experimentation, and pagan worship. Each year the festival is held in a different National Forest around the United States. This year, the Gathering will be held somewhere around eastern Texas/southern Oklahoma/southern Arkansas. We will spend about two weeks ministering to them by serving food all day long, having worship services at night, washing people’s feet, and prayer.
To prepare for this outreach, we will be attending a two-week training school on a farm in Hugo, MN. The time will include teaching, worship, prayer, outreach, and physical preparation for the trip.
As a team we will also participate in a variety of Steiger Minneapolis activities, including attending the Salvage Yard, serving at the Jesus Kitchen on the West Bank (feeding punks, homeless, and other people and pointing them to Jesus), serving the church community, and helping Feeding Children Minneapolis (a food packaging ministry that distributes food all over the world). Between 20-30 people will be part of the team going this year.
Now, with all of the facts out there, we want you to know how exciting it is to be a part of this ministry! Steiger Minneapolis has been sending teams to the Gathering for over ten years and we have seen the Lord do many amazing things! We have seen many people meet the Lord for the first time, people return to the Lord after walking away for a time, and people being miraculously healed. The Lord loves us, his children, so much! It is a blessing to witness this powerful love first hand in an environment where many feel they are destined to wander through life alone.
How Are We Doing?
This has been a very busy month for the two of us! Wendy has been trucking along through her Spring Quarter at Bethel Seminary and has enjoyed what she is learning. She will be finishing the quarter on June 5th, the day before the beginning of the Rainbow Gathering Training School! Noah has enjoyed being a mentor to a couple guys in the community. It has also been a blessing having Mark, his mentor, back from New Zealand. With Noah having a growing responsibility in the church community, it has been so important having someone with more wisdom and experience walking alongside him. We have also had the opportunity to host community meals, Bible studies, book clubs, and house meetings on our floor.

Prayer Requests:
- We are still preparing for the Rainbow Gathering. The cost of the trip is $1000.
- Please pray for those we will meet at the Rainbow Gathering. Pray that the Lord would give us His love for His children.
- Please pray for us as we continue to develop Night SHIFT and prepare for the next SHIFT School in September.
- Please pray that the Lord would give us wisdom concerning our decisions for this summer.
- We are still praying for people to commit to supporting us monthly in prayer and finances during this next year.
