The Salvage Yard Church of Jesus Christ is a church that grew out of the ministry of Steiger Minneapolis beginning as a Bible study designed for unchurched, atheist, and agnostic young people. It has grown into an eclectic community of believers that seeks to rescue and restore broken people for Jesus and release them into a life of serving him. The Tuesday night worship service which meets at Oliver Ministry Center in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis is accessible for unbelievers but designed to allow people to connect with God in worship (various styles), in the Word (currently studying the Sermon on the Mount), in the people, and through prayer.

On Friday, July 23, from 7 - 10 pm, No Longer Music (NLM) will be hosting a "Send Off Show" and Silent Auction at the Colin Powell Center in Minneapolis. This is the beginning of a tour throughout Europe, which Steiger describes as the "prodigal continent," a place that "has seen a drift away from Christianity" and "a rise in atheism and Islam in recent decades."
The facts from Steiger report abysmal conditions: less than 3% of Europe goes to church, Christianity is cast as a "dead, empty religious tradition of the past," and a generation of young Europeans are spiritually impoverished.
Enter NLM. Most of us at the Salvage Yard know about NLM, and we all look forward to this time of the year when NLM members come back to Minneapolis. But this is a time of preparation for the band and team, a time to reconnect, and a time to envision where the tour is going to go this year.
